As 2016 comes to a close I am reflecting on some of the most significant highlights of this year. The first being part one of my honeymoon in Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas. The feature photo of this post shows the steps that led to the private beach we had access to. Stay tuned for a future post about that trip. It was too amazing to not share!
The second highlight of my year is part two of my honeymoon, which will also be a future post, in Aruba. Aruba is one of my favorite islands and one to put on your list of places to visit.
You may be wondering, “if going on you’re honeymoon was a highlight of your year, why isn’t getting married on your list?” and I can answer that! Our wedding was in 2015 and we waited until the summer of 2016 to go away.
One last highlight of this year was our backyard. We bought our home a few years back as a fixer upper. Little by little we have been able to make small renovations and last year was dedicated to the backyard. It had been overgrown with so many bushes and weeds that we couldn’t even build a patio without clearing it out. Not to mention all of the different bugs the overgrown plants attracted. The first year we owned the home we tried to clear out as much as we possibly could. Finally, we realized it was too much for only two people to do, and we were able to hire someone to clear it out for us. That was by far one of the best parts of our year! It was so nice to finally be able to sit back and enjoy the backyard this summer and fall.
