Champagne Cinnamon Waffles

For fun, my family decided to do a $10 limit grab bag on Christmas Eve. I found this great mini waffle maker by Dash for only $9.99 at Crate & Barrel. It was such a steal I bought one for myself. What I love about this waffle maker is that it takes up very little space in your kitchen and it makes such cute waffles!

On New Years Day we decided we would give the waffle maker a try. As I began pouring my husband and I mimosas my husband suggested we put some of the champagne in the waffles. There was no way we would be able to finish all of the leftover Champagne from New Years Eve so we decided to give it a try. If your interested in making them yourself this is how we made them.



2 cups of cake flour

2 eggs

3/4 cup of fat free milk

1 stick of melted butter

2 tablespoons of brown sugar

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1 tablespoon of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon of salt

2 tablespoons of cinnamon

1 cup of champagne

Non stick spray for the waffle maker


I wanted to showcase the brown sugar and mention that this is one of my favorites and it works very well with baking, cooking, and in coffee.

Steps to make the waffles:


Blend all the dry ingredients first on the lowest setting.


Next add the eggs and all wet ingredients and blend until smooth. You will need to scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure it is blended evenly.


Once the batter is blended use a 1/4 cup to scoop the batter into the waffle maker. (You can choose to use a larger cup if you aren’t using the Dash mini waffle maker. The 1/4 cup put the exact amount you need without spilling over).

If you are using the Dash mini waffle maker you will need to plug it in and wait for the light to turn off. This lets you know it’s hot and ready to start cooking. I left the batter into the appliance for about 5 minutes or until it was lightly golden brown.

After you make your desired amount of waffles, you are ready to serve.

I prepared mine with strawberries and powdered sugar but you can make them however you would like. Enjoy!
